Evolution of Music



The music industry and its artist have evolved overtime and alongside this was the introduction of music video which have also been a part of this great change of music. It’s developed from the first recording by Thomas Edison. In the music industry there are numerous covers of varies genre of music with the most popular within the western world:
Classical, Jazz, Rock, R'n'B, reggae, rap/hip hop, Indie, County, folk, techno etc. Under these genres there are sub genres which narrow down the genre in itself. With the likes of ''Buddy Bolden" the inventors of jazz to some of the current music such as Justin Timberlake Although offering a different kind of music there are signs of the same concepts, which is to entertain.

The form of MTV evolved the music videos its introduction has allowed the other genres to produce their own music channels which have been a worldwide brand, part taking in their own awards ''MTV music video awards" and ''MTV movie awards'' Expanding their global brand and their market intake. With competition like this allows a person to identify their quality and detail that requires making a music video.

From 1930s to the 1950s music videos excelled from the likes of ''Madonna - Material Girl" during 1985. Michael Jackson's music videos show which was one of the most influential and most memorable music videos off all time "Thriller" producing over 139.5 million viewers on YouTube. When release in December 1983, from a budget of $500,000 with selling over over 9 million units. Which has changed from that time period till today with the likes of PYS ''Gangman style'' which his famous hit has hit over 1 Billion Hits on YouTube amplifying the magnitude of successful music video which has expanded worldwide.

Music videos have become important to the artist and bands as it is a way of amplifying there music and communicating with their audience  Artist may have different ambitions about making music video some to interact better with their target market, some to express their wealth through other means other than lyrics. Others to make more money in terms of video sales and advertisements and endowments.
